It’s been a week since my last post. And a good week it was.
I spent my day off, last Wednesday, doing some major cleaning. It was beautiful outside, but the cleaning needed to be done so I sacrificed a sunny, summer day to get things in order. Ugh, being an adult is awful. As always, cleaning gave me the crafting bug so I also hit up the fabric store for a few necessities.
His reponse? None.
He always makes fun of me for getting “floral patterned everything” so I went with the boldest of the three, the non-floral.
The fabric was for a little “reupholstering” project. I used the quotes because I’m sure anyone who actually reupholsters things for a living would have laughed their butts off at my method. Well, technically the hubby’s method. I asked if he had a staple gun, meaning one like this. But what he actually had was this, which provides about a 97% chance of stapling a finger for an amateur like myself.
We’re hoping to remodel our kitchen within the next year so I’m all about little makeovers like this to keep myself from going crazy before we gut out the whole room and start over.
Worked breezed by Thursday & Friday, and I even walked out the door before 6:00 on Friday. Now that, is a miracle. And worth a little Friday night celebration on the patio.
I feel summer slipping away each and every day, and once again, I feel as though it’s barely started. With that in mind, I sat outside on Friday night until every last drop of sun had disappeared from the sky.
After a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning, we headed out for the Great Taste. Since we were technically “staff”, we didn’t have to wait in line and got to hit up a few of our favorite breweries before throngs of people entered the event. It seemed to offer a little bit of everything this year.
We were able to walk around the event for a couple of hours before we had to report for duty.
Here’s a little behind the scenes look. Most breweries offered 4-6 beers, but The Great Dane offered 24. Go big or go home, right?
Even though I’ve worked for the company for nearly 10 years, I had never heard of a few of the beers we offered that day. I felt a little bad for my hubby who did a bit more sampling than myself, has never worked at a Great Dane, nor poured a beer for anyone other than at a kegger in high school. He did a pretty nice job though, maybe I should try to find him a bartending job?
We rounded out a great weekend by heading to my parents’ house on Sunday. We planned to get in a round of golf, but it was cool and rainy off and on so we went for a little drive and visited with family instead.
Hope your week is off to a great start and you get over the hump with ease!
